Music Services
I’m a Master Director and an experienced vocal coach, specializing in barbershop groups, but also experienced with other a cappella groups. I provide individual vocal lessons, or classes for audiences of any size and composition. I offer video coaching for any group – just ask!
I’m also an experienced soloist, mainly in the classical area, but I’ve also sung contemporary numbers for wedding ceremonies. I’ve also sung jazz and music theatre numbers for concerts, so generally I’m happy to sing anything!
I sing tenor and have won multiple Australian and PanPacific championships both in my women’s quartets (Hi-Jinx, Enchant and currently Skylark) and mixed quartet (Twice On Sunday). I’ve competed internationally on the quartet stage 6 times, placing in the top 20 several times. I’ve been singing in and coaching quartets for 30 years now! I’ve also directed my chorus on the International stage twice and hope to do so again one day!
I was in the learning track business for 20 years, slowly building my list of songs in my spare time. I no longer create new learning tracks due to time and copyright difficulties, but the process of singing over 200 songs in 4 parts was highly educational!
I manage the SAI34 Music Leaders Program (MLP), and teach on the Australian Regional Education Faculty as well as directing A Cappella West Chorus. I also serve on the International Director Certification Program Review Committee, whose role is to ensure the DCP materials are up to date and presented in the most effective way for our trainee directors. I was appointed to the Sweet Adelines International Faculty in 2023 and am keen to travel outside Australia for coaching opportunities in other Regions. You can view my International Resume HERE. I am also on a new SAI Exploratory Team for International Faculty Development as of 2024.
In 2021 I was awarded the Sweet Adelines International Ann Gooch Award, for my work in promoting barbershop education in the worldwide arena.
In 2022 I was appointed to joint positions for the development of youth barbershop in Australia by Barbershop Harmony Australia (where I have the honor of being the first female member of the National Council in the position of Vice President, Youth Development) and Sweet Adelines Australia (where I take on the role of Young Women In Harmony Co-ordinator). This is due to my work with schools in my local area and I hope over the next year or two I will be able to seed other workshops around the nation.
